Trade natural capital. Safely.

Trinity NCM offers the highest integrity standards and the lowest costs on the market, increasing rewards and reducing risk for farmers and buyers. Farms of all sizes and types generate the highest quality credits, retaining full control over how they farm.

Trinity Natural Capital Markets (NCM) is a member of the Trinity Natural Capital Group of companies. The Group’s mission is to help boost the profitability and sustainability of agriculture.

Trinity Natural Capital Group is vehemently against replacing farming for food with farming carbon. The Group companies, including Trinity NCM, are there to supplement food security and increase business resiliency. We support farmers and land managers to set up new business models that allow them to maximise the value of food production, the health of soil structure, the quality of water, the carbon sequestration and the associated biodiversity gains.

The world’s lowest commission - giving you a higher return

Pay just 5% commission on the credits price vs. industry average of 30-50%, enabling farmers and land stewards to maximise the value of their natural capital.

Fully independent. Unbiased science. Unreliant on cross-selling

Trinity is 100% independent of entrenched interests, groups, and agribusinesses. We don’t aggregate or sell data. We don’t cross-sell. Our business model relies on an annual licence and a 5% commission on trades.

We follow the latest science available for carbon footprinting: tier 2 & 3 methodologies from the 2019 Refinement to the 2006 IPCC Guidelines (other companies either use simplistic tier 1 methodologies or follow outdated IPCC science prior to 2019). We are backed by a Scientific Board of more than 40 leading sustainability scientists.

Rewards all farming systems - not just arable and forestry

All farming types: organic, conventional, and regenerative.

All land uses: croplands, grasslands, peatlands, and woodlands.

All enterprise types: arable and horticulture, perennials, glasshouses, agroforestry, beef, dairy, sheep, broilers, eggs, goats, and pigs.

Any size: we have a policy of not leaving anyone behind. Other companies only admit farms with more than 100 ha.

We are non prescriptive. Unlike other companies, we allow farmers to implement much more than a handful of practices. We also offer flexibility once a forward contract is signed: while we recommend following the mitigation practices agreed in the contract, additional mitigation practices are also allowed throughout the duration of the project.

We cater to all levels of technology sophistication through Sandy, our UX award winning software.

  • Cut out the cost & inefficiencies of unnecessary intermediaries

Farmers can generate credits without relying on unnecessary intermediaries. Trinity offers a seamless, end-to-end proposition, democratising carbon markets for farmers. Other companies give the impression of an end-to-end product, but they are just a user interface that relies on external scientific modelling and unnecessary brokers.

  • Enjoy the strongest legal underpinning

Trinity offers the most robust risk management framework, in line with force majeure, events of default and illegality clauses from ISDA agreements used in capital markets. We have mitigation measures against natural, model, contractual and counterparty risk, protecting both farmers and carbon credit buyers.

Avoid carbon tunnel vision

The value of carbon credits can be amplified through biodiversity and water co-benefits because climate change and nature loss are intertwined.

We use habitat and management information to evaluate biodiversity without the need for physical surveys, and automatically generate biodiversity improvement plans.

Our water protection module is built around a powerful decision support tool aimed to improve nutrient use efficiency and reduce inputs entering waterways.

Other companies only focus on carbon because they do not have the scientific capabilities to address biodiversity improvements and water leaching minimisation.

We have built a Global Super Standard.

Join & benefit from the highest quality and integrity.

Our methodology follows ISO 14064-2:2019 standards. We require validation of mitigation plans and verification of implemented practices in line with ISO 14064-3:2019 standards executed by ISO 14065:2020 accredited validation and verification bodies that are part of the International Accreditation Forum.

Trinity’s contracts are intended to be fully compliant with the Core Carbon Principles established by the Taskforce on Scaling Voluntary Carbon Markets and the Integrity Council for the Voluntary Carbon Market. Buyers of Trinity’s carbon credits must follow the Claims Code of Practice from the Voluntary Carbon Markets Integrity Initiative.

Farmers & land managers unlock the full value of their natural capital

  • Carbon offsets

Generate carbon credits and choose to sell them or let us help you get direct to access blue-chip buyers. Trinity does not buy & resell your credits.

  • Carbon insets

Generate and keep carbon credits to offset emissions across your own value chain.

  • Sustainability-linked subsidies

Access blended finance opportunities through public and private funding. Trinity NCM has actively contributed to draft the UK Soil Carbon Code and has participated in the call for evidence of the EU carbon removal certification.

  • Sustainability-linked loans

Secure better conditions when applying for funding to implement sustainable practices.

  • Upsell your produce

Increase the value of your produce by communicating the positive environmental impact of your practices.

  • Sustainable procurement

Compensate the cost of the sustainable inputs that you buy with the associated benefits later down the line through carbon credits, sustainability-linked funding, and product premiums.

Companies include natural capital in their decision making

  • Carbon offsets (for any company)

Buy the highest quality of carbon credits to compensate or neutralise your residual emissions. You can also use them as collateral alongside financing instruments, such as repos.

  • Carbon insets (for companies relying on natural capital)

Reduce the scope 3 emissions of your value chain and increase the business resilience of your suppliers.

  • Diversify your portfolio (for asset managers)

By 2030, circa 1% of carbon allocation will be required to hedge portfolios from climate change related risk (source: McKinsey & Company).

  • Manage risk (for financial services)

Comply with Central Banks’ regulation around climate change risk management, and balance long-term liabilities.

  • Sustainability labelling (for retailers & processors)

Meet end-customers demand around transparency behind the sustainability impact of the products that they find in the supermarket’s shelves.

  • ESG reporting (for fund managers & publicly listed companies)

Align with SBTi FLAG Guidance, SFDR PAI reporting and the EU Taxonomy. Sandy complies with the GHG Protocol.
